A powerful hub for Mesh Wi-Fi
As a Mesh Wi-Fi hub, the FRITZ!Box 6690 Cable ensures optimal Wi-Fi quality for all wireless activities in the entire home network. In the Mesh Wi-Fi, multiple distributed wireless hubs (for instance, the FRITZ!Box and several FRITZ!Repeaters) are combined into a single intelligent Wi-Fi network. The FRITZ!Box 6690 Cable is always the hub (Mesh Master), actively controlling all of the other access points so that wireless devices used in the home network are always registered with the access point that offers the best connection. Mobile wireless devices switch between the access points automatically, without any interruption to active applications.

Versatile Smart Home and convenient telephony
Smart Home devices like the FRITZ!DECT 301 radiator control, the switchable sockets FRITZ!DECT 200/210, the FRITZ!DECT 440 switch and the FRITZ!DECT 500 LED light are controlled via the integrated DECT base station. With the integrated telecommunications system, two analog telephones and up to six DECT cordless telephones (FRITZ!Fon, for instance) can be registered. Via Wi-Fi, the FRITZ!App FON transforms even smartphones into full-service landline/VoIP telephones. Multiple integrated answering machines, local telephone books and online telephone contacts and a slew of convenience functions round out the broad telephony palette.

Versatile multimedia functions
An integrated TV tuner streams the television signal throughout the entire home network to PCs, smartphones, or tablets. The FRITZ!Box 6690 Cable also brings connected USB storage media into the home network as well as online storage media and all of the contents stored there. Thanks to the integrated media server coupled with NAS, stored videos, music and pictures are made available for distribution to playback devices like smartphones.
